The course is taught over 40 hours, plus three exam papers covering Collision Regulations, General Seamanship and Chartwork. It is very important that you ensure your Day Skipper level skills are up to date as there is only limited time available for revision.

It allows some time for revision of the basics and then moves on to advanced navigation techniques. Your skipper’s pack (issued as part of the course) will include a copy of the RYA Yachtmaster shorebased notes handbook.
